I gave up music on my runs a while back just because my runs are typically in my neighborhood during the dark early-morning hours. I've got all the light-up and reflective gear but our road has a lot of sharp turns. Plus I don't fully trust that drivers will be paying attention--so I want to hear them coming. Unrelated, I'd been considering wireless earbuds or headphones for a while but just don't use my wired earbuds enough to justify an upgrade. Then I came across the Marathons right when they were released.
These are AWESOME. They are comfortable, lightweight, have good battery life, and are easy to use. I use them while running and can hear the world around me in addition to podcasts, music, or whatever I punch up that day. There have actually been a couple of times I forgot I was wearing them.
They're also good for watching movies on my tablet at home. I can enjoy whatever I'm watching without inflicting it on everyone else or being isolated. These are not going to be the high-dollar high fidelity but the sound quality is really good for real life.
An unexpected bonus is that it can pair with two bluetooth sources at the same time. No need to disconnect from my phone to listen from the iPad or vice versa. Super happy with these guys--highly recommend!
"ON YOUR LEFT!" has never been heard more clearly than when using the Marathon headphones. In addition to quality sound when listening to my audiobooks, these headphones don't compete for cranial territory with my baseball cap, sunglasses, hoodie and buff face wrap.
